About Food Banks
Across the country, 31 Food Banks are on a mission to rescue and redistribute food to those in need, preventing unnecessary waste.
Foundation actively acquires food, including items with a short shelf life, manages storage, and facilitates distribution to local partner organizations. Their efforts extend to promoting attitudes that combat food waste.
In 2023
Food Banks provided assistance to around 1.5 million people in need across Poland, contributing a total of over 32,500 tons of food for social initiatives.
The aid reached 3,400 social organizations and institutions, encompassing soup kitchens, community centers, shelters, homeless shelters, educational centers, hospices, support centers for single mothers, children's homes, and other facilities dedicated to assisting those in need.
Food Banks extended food support to multi-child families, the unemployed, homeless individuals, those with disabilities, individuals in recovery from addictions, and many others facing challenging life situations. Their assistance reaches across generations, supporting seniors, adults, and children alike.
Thanks to the collected food, over 128 million meals were provided for those in need.
